INDEPENDENCE, MO. (June 29, 2023) — Centerpoint Medical Center, part of the HCA Midwest Health system, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Independence Missouri on Wednesday, June 28 to celebrate the Grand Opening of Lori’s Gifts Store #655.
Hospital administrators, staff, and volunteers joined with Lori’s Field Leaders to cut the red ribbon and welcome guests to the gift shop. The medical center’s VP of Operations, Shanda Spire, said “We are very pleased that a brand new Lori’s Gifts has opened at Centerpoint to better serve our staff and patients.” Employees and some visitors were lines up in a steady stream outside the gift shop to enjoy special Grand Opening deals, activities and giveaways. Patient Benenfit Advisor Bryan McArthur was amazed at the turnout, saying “The new store is awesome and this is very exciting! Today was like a Black Friday event!”
Lori’s Northern Region District Manager, Tim Murphy said, “The hospital staff and few visitors loved the store and the merchandise mix along with the One Day Doorbuster deals. We had a line most of the day. Very exciting!” In a company email, Lori’s Chief Merchandising Officer Doug Lane expressed his excitement that the Grand Opening event was as successful as a Black Friday event. He also thanked all involved for getting products, fixtures and equipment to the new shop in a timely manner. A Lori’s Grand Opening is a carefully orchestrated event with many, many moving parts.
